Our chapter serves 17 countries in Southern and East Africa
and the Indian Ocean region: Angola, Botswana, Comoros Islands, Democratic Republic of Congo, eSwatini (formerly Swaziland), Kenya, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
The countries in our region are home to powerful cultural histories
and incredible landscapes. From the Zulu people and cosmopolitan vibes of South Africa to the roaring waters of Victoria Falls in Zambia and Zimbabwe, the tropical beaches of Mauritius and Seychelles, to the wildlife-filled savannas of
Tanzania and Kenya, the Sensational Southern Africa Alumnae Chapter serves a diverse region that is home to vast cultural heritage and breathtaking scenery.

Welcome to the website of the Southern Africa Alumnae Chapter (SAAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Chartered in 2016, SAAC proudly serves as a dynamic international chapter advancing the sorority’s mission across Southern and East Africa. Our chapter is a multigenerational sisterhood of dedicated women united by a shared commitment to service, social justice, and global impact.
SAAC is uniquely positioned across 17 countries, allowing us to engage meaningfully with communities through programs focused on education, health, economic empowerment, international awareness, and advocacy. Through strong partnerships and culturally responsive initiatives, we strive to uplift communities, empower women and girls, and create sustainable change throughout the region we serve.
